VAMOS course in Brdo near Kranj

As a part of the international project VAMOS the Slovene Roads Agency - Road Safety Council organized the second course for the members of local road safety councils, which took place between December, 15 - 19, 2008 and February, 5 - 6, 2009 in Brdo near Kranj. The first course was organized in 2007 had 36 participants and the results of the projects developed at that course are extremely good and immensely encouraging for the preventive work at local level and voluntary work.

The program of the December course was divided into three parts:


Road Safety Activities in Slovenia

The Council performs developmental, counseling and expert tasks in the field of prevention and educational activities, analytic-research activities and other tasks connected with road safety. It is also active in preparing and implementing the National Road Safety Program that is intended to level road safety in Slovenia to the situation in Europe in the shortest time possible. This program will connect the agencies and organizations in their cooperation and actions for better road safety.


Slovene Roads Agency - Road Safety Council

Slovene Road Safety Council has a long tradition in working in the field of preventive work and in maintaining road safety (especially in programs and activities fro children, youngsters and elderly people), which started in 1972. At first it was an independent body, co financed by the government, but since January 1, 2007 the Slovene Road Safety Council is the new internal organizational unit of the Slovene Roads Agency and is now known as the Road Safety Council.
