Organizing voluntary traffic safety work in Finland
Liikenneturva is the central organisation for Finnish traffic safety work. Its mission is to promote traffic safety by influencing people’s attitudes and traffic behaviour. Liikenneturva uses various tools to achieve this: publicity and campaigns, traffic education regarding different age groups and advanced training for drivers. Liikenneturva’s operations are anchored in research information. It has its own research unit, statistics service and a large library from the traffic sector.

Liikenneturva operates under the guidance of the Ministry of Transport and Communications and in close contact with the authorities and organizations of the sector. The key partners include Road Administration, police, the municipalities and associations of various fields.
