1. ESTABLISHING OF LOCAL NETWORKS OF VOLUNTEERS
During the first months of the project, Belgian Road Safety Institute/Institut Belge pour la Sécurité Routière (BRSI/IBSR) drew up a list of the Belgian road safety organisations and the nature of their activities on the one hand, and on the other hand the BRSI/IBSR made a framework to create a volunteer network (volunteer convention, rules, insurances...).
The Belgian Road Safety Institute (BRSI) is a non-profit organisation whose mission is to improve road safety in Belgium through research, advice to authorities, information and education. The BRSI is a consultative instance for federal, regional, provincial, and local authorities and informs the public by means of awareness raising initiatives.
